2 Peter 1:3 says, "Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence."
So let me ask you, what kinds of things do you think are pertaining to life and godliness? What things are of God's kingdom? The Creator and His glory, His majesty, His power? What things are of His perfection and purity and goodness? And what pertains to life, to vitality? Let us meditate on this question a little. What kinds of things do you think pertain to life and godliness? Because I think it's kind of everything that we actually want. And he has all these things packed into the gift of his son, Jesus Christ. He's granted everything pertaining to life and godliness to you and me through Jesus Christ, who gave himself as a sacrifice for us so that we don't have to bear the consequences of our sin. Soak in that a little today as you talk to your Creator. He loves you so much! AMEN! Love does not seek its own, right? Do we remember this when we consider who our God is? He is Love!
There's so much talk in Christian communities about what you are gonna do for the Lord, what we're gonna do for God. God is not seeking for what he can get out of us. That's obvious in the work of the cross. God is a GIVER. He's pouring out every good thing over us through Christ! BUT, I will tell you that a natural response to the love of God is to give. A real excitement for scripture and the Holy Spirit and worship and all of these things is found in the one who is receiving the love of God. And in return that love is coming back up! The filling up is now pouring over. So, those things are definitely a part of the Christian life, and if you don't have them, then the issue is not to try to do them. The issue is that your cup's not full. You're not receiving God's love for you. Know today that you are dearly loved by God. Come to Him and let him care for you and pour out His goodness over your life. Stop worrying about measuring up and just rest in the work of Christ. Knowing that He gave up everything for you and is giving all that He is, and all that He has, FREELY to you as a gift. AMEN. Study Scriptures today: 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 What aspects of love do you find hard to receive from our God? #bibletime #jesusistheway #biblestudy #dailybible #apologetics #jesuschrist #osas #faith #liveyourfaith #makejesusviral #jesuslovesyou #bibleversedaily #christianpodcast #dailybiblereading #shespeakstruth #churchlife #gospelofgrace #graceofgod #takeyourmeds #jesusislord #graceandtruth #keepfaith #salvation #goodnews #salvation #Jesus #christian What other demonstration of love could we possibly need? Our God is like, "I'll give up everything. I'll even die a horrible death if you'll just receive me and then we can be together forever." That's the Creator of the Universe. He did that for us!
God became man, took the punishment for our sin, died our death and then rose again just so that He could make a way for you and I to receive Him and be with him forever. He could not stand to separated from us! If you have not already, will you receive Him today? If you believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead and you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, you will be saved. He will give you His eternal life and you will be born of His Spirit, forever His child! AMEN. Study Scriptures today: 1 Corinthians Chapter 1. Let's read this Chapter from the perspective of how God loves us! Have you ever read these qualities of love as a description of how God loves you? What does that do for you when you read it in that way? If we really want to be pouring out love for people we first need to receive the Father's love because we cannot give what we don't have.
What I mean by that is simply that you have to come to a revelation and understanding of how much He loves you and what that love actually looks like. And it looks like Jesus Christ dying our death. It looks like Jesus Christ taking our consequences for sin so that we don't have to. That's what it looks like. And so whatever we need to get out of that, that's gonna really be the thing that demonstrates, It explains, it gives us revelation of what love is. Our God loves you so much that He gave it all up, even died a horrible death, just so that He could have you in His life forever. I've been rattling around this verse for a couple of weeks now.
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all. How will He not also, with Him, freely give us all things." The concept that Paul is trying to teach us here is that if he already gave us the most important, most valuable, thing that he could ever give us -- the thing that is of the highest value to God is His son Jesus. Yes? -- If he gave us that. Then what could possibly be of more value to the Lord that he would not give it to us? No, He has demonstrated that He's willing to give it ALL for you and me. Every good thing is ours, freely given by God. AMEN. I want to connect this idea of God freely giving to the fact that He so dearly loves you and me. And this was something that I really felt God led me into as I've been meditating on this verse. That it's not just because God's a great giver. And He is! But it is because He loves us so much. So, what good thing do you need from your heavenly Father who so dearly Loves you? Come boldly to the One who sacrificed it all so that He could make a way for you to dwell with Him forever and lavish on you the wonders of His kingdom! Study Scripture for today is Romans 8:32. It's not through trying more or trying harder. It's not from discipline. And discipline is not a bad thing, but it is NOT the thing that produces God's salvation in your life. It comes from faith and goes into faith. For the righteous man shall live, have LIFE, by faith! Because, the issue with our conscience is that when we try and self justify we get a nagging circle of justifying ourself, feeling good because I had a good reason for it, and then coming back around to the guilt and shame. And we'll go through this cycle of things. But if we will adequately recognize that thing as already being punished in the body of Jesus Christ, then your conscience won't pester you about it. So, Christ took your sin to the cross. It was condemned there. You will never be punished for it and you can put your conscience to rest by believing and confessing this truth. Study Scriptures for today: Hebrews 10:22 Your conscience demands punishment for sin. Give it the punishment that Christ took on your behalf! Some of us are looking for God's power in our lives. We're looking for power for salvation.
We're looking for power to be transformed into God's image more and more in our walk and the way that we live. Some of us are looking for God's power for deliverance from addiction, from sin and bondage to things. Some of us are looking for power from God's kingdom to deliver a loved one from illness or other things that the enemy would bring into their life. The power is in the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, and it's released into our life through simple faith in God for His unearned favor through the work of the cross of Jesus Christ. It sounds too easy, so simple it's almost silly. Try it and see it work in your life! Believe today that you have the favor of God in every area of your life, not because of your effort or good works, but because Jesus took your sins to the cross and you are forever forgiven and right with Him. Romans 1:16-17 Have you ever seen the Gospel of Jesus move powerfully in your life or the life of someone you know? (Romans 8:1)
One of the things that I like to talk about a lot is that word "now," because whatever "now" moment you're in, there is no condemnation! This is very good news because there are moments of failure and there are moments of where we feel like we're doing really good. None of that is affecting the right-standing that we have with Almighty God. No, those who are in Christ have completely set aside their own efforts, their own works, to have His righteousness as a gift. And that right-standing, that righteousness, that perfection that Christ gives us, it's His perfection. He gives it to us as a gift. That perfection that we have in Christ cannot be tainted by our own efforts or our works. Not the good works or the bad. It's perfectly perfect, and we get it free through faith in Jesus christ. Study Scriptures for today: Romans 8:1-4 Are you able to see yourself this way? As the one who is NOT condemned because Jesus Christ took your condemnation for you? What about in the moment of your bad decisions? Can you still see yourself as not condemned even in the midst of failure?
