The Apostle Paul is saying that you're gonna prove what the will of God is and that it is good, acceptable, and perfect! (Romans 12:2)
You actually are testing it. It's like dipping your toe in the water and you're testing to see if the water is okay. Is it too cold? Is it too hot? You're testing it, right? You're testing so that you may approve. But the result when you are doing this with God's things, the result is that you are going to say, "Yes! It is good, it is acceptable, and it is perfect!" That's the way that this is designed, you are NOT going to have a negative reaction to the transformation that takes place as God trains you up in His ways. As you are renewed to the truth of the gospel you are going to be VERY pleased with the result! AMEN! Study scripture for today: Keep studying Romans 12:2! It's rich! How are we transformed? It's through the renewing of our mind. There's something that we are going to be thinking that is different.
There are things about the way that we think that affect our life. Every single day we make decisions out of different pathways of thinking that we have developed from childhood. And this is something that is being addressed in Romans 12:2, that there's a change in our thinking. A Change from the way that we were raised, from the things that the world says, from the things that even our parents may have taught us that are not in line with God's kingdom. This renewing of our mind is how we are actually transformed in our walk, in our day-to-day living, to become more and more like Christ, who is full of power, wisdom and glory! So what's the DIFFERENT thing? Well, it isn't learning more about what is right and wrong to do, or even what is good or evil behavior. No, the change in our thinking is knowing we have God's unearned favor. You have God's unearned favor. Meditating on the work of the cross to understand how much our God loves us IS THE THING that we are thinking that is DIFFERENT than we use to think before. Before we thought that we had to measure up to be worth something, now we know that we DO measure up in Christ. Before we thought we were loved and adored because we behaved well (or unloved because we didn't!) but now we know we are loved because God became man and died our death to give us the free gift of eternal life. This is the thinking that brings true transformation from death to life, from mental distress to peace, from childishness to maturity. Let's meditate on it today! AMEN. Study scripture for today: Romans 12:2 Listen now to Episode 6 - Be Transformed https://youtu.be/7rAlpdAEPMM We don't wanna be conformed to the things of this world because everything that is pertaining to this world is fallen. Sometimes I feel like the Christian life is presented like, "Oh, the things of this world are great, but don't conform to them because God said not too!" As though the things of this world have pleasure in them, but God's things do not.
And it's a total lie because God's ways are filled with joy. They're filled with pleasure, they're filled with every good thing. He's the creator of every good thing! Yes? But the things of this world are imperfect, falling apart or downright corrupt. So not being conformed to this world, but being transformed to come in alignment with God's things, is gonna have a lot of benefit to it. Love, joy, peace, miraculous power for salvation and the release of God's endless resources are all found in Him and His ways! These are the words of the Apostle Paul who wrote:
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. (Rom 5:17) How do we receive these two things? How do we receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that we might reign in life through Jesus? Through faith! Everything is by grace, you couldn't earn it, through faith, you get it when you believe in the Lord. So let us humble ourselves today, knowing that we don't have the power to earn one lick of what God has, yet believe in God that He has FREELY given us everything pertaining to LIFE through His son Jesus Christ. Simply put, God has already released an abundance of favor, a too-much favor, a more-than-you-could-ever-need favor to you and your house. And not only that, but He has also granted you perfect right-standing with Himself, at all times, in every circumstance, forever and ever. AMEN. Believe it and walk in the authority of THE King. #bibletime #jesusistheway #biblestudy #dailybible #apologetics #jesuschrist #osas #faith #liveyourfaith #makejesusviral #jesuslovesyou #bibleversedaily #christianpodcast #dailybiblereading #shespeakstruth #churchlife #gospelofgrace #graceofgod #takeyourmeds #jesusislord #graceandtruth #keepfaith #salvation #goodnews #salvation #Jesus #christian How are you doing with this? Are you receiving the abundance of grace or are you rejecting it?
Are you saying, "I can't have God's favor because I'm not good enough?" Or are you saying, "I don't deserve it but Jesus paid for me to have it with His blood?" Grace, means unearned favor. God has given it freely. And how do we receive it? We are able to receive all that God has for us through faith. By grace through faith! So let us trust God that he has given His favor for every good thing to flow in our life through what Jesus did, and not because of anything we are doing. Study Scripture for today: Romans 5:17. We are not our righteousness.
It's not based on what we do. It's not based on our behavior. We have been given a gift of righteousness. That means that His perfection, His purity, all His right decisions that he always makes, all that is credited to you and me in Christ, and even more than that, He caused us to be birthed of these things! You know, there's all kinds of things that we come up with. Such as, "If you sin tomorrow and you don't confess it, then you're not forgiven." That's nonsense. That's not what the Bible teaches. Or another would teach, "You didn't believe enough to be saved because there's still sin in your life." That's not the truth! The truth is that you are righteous. You are righteous with somebody else's righteousness. And because it's not yours to begin with, you can't make it unrighteous. It's perfect. It will never be changed by what you or I do. He actually became all the grotesque sin on our behalf. If you can imagine the sins that have been committed across the years by the billions of people on the planet, Jesus Christ became all of that at the cross. I don't think that I have a real understanding of what that would entail. Scripture says, "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." So because he became our sin, he took it from us, as you and I do not have it. Jesus Christ took it to the cross, and we are now RIGHT with God. This desiring does not come with demands. It does not come with, "Straighten up!" It doesn't come with, "You gotta act and be a certain way for Me!" No, it comes with a complete and utter acceptance of who you are, right now and forever. And the things that are off or not good-- and I'm sure you're aware of some things that you think, some things that you've done or are doing, the decisions that you've made that were not right-- God is taking care of those things. He's going to wash them away forever. You do not see the fullness of the freedom from the bad stuff now, but you will see it in the future. He's making all parts of you and I new. He's making us new from the inside to the outside and it's not something that you are going to mess up. It's not something that you are going to miss. His love not only accepts you as you are, but he's gonna wash away every part that is error or failure. Yes! And he's going to complete us with his very Spirit, full of power. AMEN! No, he ate because he was not willing to be separated from Eve. You see Adam was not deceived. He knew what the Lord told Him was true, that he would die if he ate (1 Tim 2:14). So then it becomes very easy to see if you ask yourself the question, "Why would Adam eat the forbidden fruit if he knew he was going to die?" And the answer is so simple, it's because he loved his bride and he was not gonna be severed from her. If she was going to enter into death, he was going to go with her and go through that death so that he could be with her in it. And this is not on accident. It was written into the fabric of who Adam is! Because Adam is a type, a foreshadowing, of the person of Jesus Christ (Rom 5:14), our God in the flesh who was willing to enter into death on our behalf because of His great love for us and desire to be with us. Except Jesus Christ could do something that Adam couldn't do. Jesus could rescue his bride. He could deliver his bride from death. So there is this beautiful picture to be seen, that the ultimate sacrifice, which is Jesus dying for our sins because of the great love for which He loved us, was foretold in the very first two people that God ever created. It accomplished the complete forgiveness of our sin. He died the death that we owed.
Our God loved us so much that he decided He would take the consequences of our failures and our faults and our imperfections, and that He would take the full weight of condemnation for us. The judgment for our wrongs is COMPLETED through the work of the cross, and we can come boldly into His kingdom.
